Electri-Flex Company Celebrates 70 Years of American Made Craftsmanship and Innovation

ELECTRI-FLEX COMPANY, Roselle, IL, celebrates 70 years of manufacturing Liquatite® flexible electrical conduit. Liquatite conduit carries deep American-made roots as the Company was founded by Harold Kinander, Sr. in 1955 in the Chicagoland Suburbs. Electri-Flex began with one type of conduit 70 years ago and today proudly manufactures nearly 50 varieties of conduits. These conduits are available in many sizes, types, and colors, to serve every major market, both domestically and internationally. Liquatite® conduit has been carefully designed with in-house tooling and an innovative engineering and production team that has perfected the quality to make Liquatite® the high-quality leader it is today.

Electri-Flex is third-generation owned and operated. In 1955, Harold Kinander, Sr. incorporated the Company and founded the Liquatite® brand. Today Harold’s grandchildren, Jason W. Kinander, CEO, Blue Kinander Kelly, VP, and JR Kinander, VP, successfully lead the organization. Jan Ruthe, COO, has been a tremendous addition to the executive team, focusing on employee training and development, factory efficiencies, growth, and leadership for the Company.

Manufacturing began in a 5,000-square-foot chicken hatchery 70 years ago, and today has grown into a quarter of a million square feet in three buildings, comprised of two manufacturing facilities, and one distribution center. “We began a plant redesign and modernization project in 2018, focusing on integrating new technology, refining our processes, and optimizing the plant layout,” stated Jan Ruthe, COO. “This extensive overhaul represents a significant investment in our future, one that will enhance the way we operate, ensuring we remain competitive and responsive to the evolving demands of the market. These strategic changes will enable us to increase production while maintaining the high quality our customers expect, while also allowing us to swiftly adapt to changing customer needs and industry trends.”

Building on these advancements, Jason Kinander, owner and CEO, emphasizes the core values driving Electri-Flex’s continued success. “We believe in US manufacturing,” he states. “We also believe very strongly in buying US made steel, plastic, and aluminum. We can control the quality of the product because it’s being produced right here in Roselle, IL, and we have a very extensive quality control department. We have control of the process from the time raw materials come in the front door, to the time it goes in the box and on the truck to our customers.”
