Eaton Launches Residential Motion Sensors with Extended Detection Range

Eaton has introduced a new family of Occupancy (OS306A) and Vacancy (VS306M) Sensors, providing intelligent, energy-saving lighting control for residential applications. Featuring a sleek, reduced-depth design for easier installation, the sensors combine advanced functionality with a contemporary aesthetic that complements today’s interiors.

Suitable for both new construction and retrofit projects, the sensors automatically respond to changing room conditions to improve energy efficiency, convenience and occupant comfort. Occupancy sensors automatically turn lights on when motion is detected and off when a space is unoccupied, while vacancy sensors require manual activation and automatically switch lights off when the room is vacant, helping reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

Enhanced electronics extend the sensors’ detection range to cover up to 1,000 square feet, delivering reliable performance in a wide range of residential spaces. A push-button interface enables fast, intuitive programming without adjustment dials, while configurable motion sensitivity allows installers to fine-tune performance for each application. Integrated ambient light sensing prevents lights from turning on when sufficient natural daylight is available, further improving energy savings.

Ideal for hallways, entryways, laundry rooms, closets, garages, home offices and other frequently used spaces, the sensors provide dependable, hands-free lighting control that enhances everyday convenience.

Additional features include:

  • Passive infrared (PIR) motion detection with a 180-degree field of view.
  • Color-matched lens for a clean, integrated appearance.
  • Interchangeable color change kits to complement a variety of décor styles.
  • Energy efficient and code compliant, meets IECC and California Title 24 requirements.
